When and why did you start tattooing?
I started tattooing in early 2018, after my apprenticeship in Italy. I found in this job something that allowed me to express my creativity; in my opinion, tattooing is the best way to permanently represent what we feel and what we want to remember.
How would you describe your style?
Simple and legible are key for a good tattoo. My fascination with traditional style has had a big impact on the concept of the shapes I like to design; in my opinion tattoos must have solid lines. During my apprenticeship I did a lot of pencil realism drawings, which have influenced my way of representing detailed illustrations simply.
What’s your best source of inspiration for your work?
Being surrounded by great artists is fundamental, not exclusively tattooists, but people creating with intent and and who are motivated to expand their knowledge. Tattoos apart, surfing is a source of inspiration. Surfing is the highest feeling of calmness I can get, and being in the water is something that drives me to do better.
What’s the best lesson you have learned from the world of tattooing?
Having a good balance in life is essential in being where you want to be. Therefore, I believe time is the answer. Finding and dedicating time to things that deserve it will improve yourself and help your life a lot. Not wasting waste time and making it part of your focus is crucial.
What would you like to achieve as a tattoo artist?
I like the idea of creating powerful tattoos, that are full of sensations transmitted by the elements represented. With continuous improvement in composition, values and colors I’d like people to look at my tattoos and feel the emotions behind it.
